A chilling case of domestic violence has rocked Port Harcourt, leaving 28-year-old Orinemi Ayanate hospitalized in critical condition after she was allegedly attacked by her boyfriend, Abi Tamunotomba Barango.
The incident reportedly occurred following a minor disagreement, but the outcome was far from minor—Orinemi was allegedly stabbed and shot by Tamunotomba, who then fled the scene and is now on the run.
Sources close to the family told Naira Diary that the suspect, a native of Buguma in Rivers State and reportedly working with Antan Producing under NNPC, had displayed controlling and obsessive behavior long before this violent attack. Orinemi, sadly, had confided in her family that she feared reporting him due to possible retaliation. This raises serious questions about the signs of prolonged abuse that may have gone unreported.
Currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital, Orinemi’s condition remains critical.
Photos of the suspect have been shared by the victim’s sister in a bid to assist with his capture. The family is calling on the public to help locate Tamunotomba and ensure that justice is served.
The Rivers State Police Command is aware of the situation, and efforts are ongoing to bring the suspect to justice.
