Jamie Lee Curtis Fights Back Tears Over Charlie Kirk’s Murder on WTF Podcast
Hollywood legend Jamie Lee Curtis grew emotional while discussing the tragic killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk during her recent appearance on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast.
Curtis admitted she disagreed with Kirk on “almost every point” he ever made, but still reflected on his humanity, calling him “a father, a husband, and a man of faith.”
“I disagreed with him on almost every point I ever heard him say, but I believe he was a man of faith, and I hope in that moment when he died, that he felt connected with his faith. Even though his ideas were abhorrent to me. I still believe he’s a father and a husband and a man of faith. And I hope whatever connection to God means that he felt it.” – Jamie Lee Curtis
Kirk, 31, was fatally shot on September 10, 2025, while speaking at Utah Valley University. His death and the graphic footage of the incident quickly spread online, sparking nationwide shock and debates about political violence.
Curtis also expressed concern over the repeated circulation of such violent images, comparing it to the collective trauma of past national tragedies like 9/11 and the Kennedy assassination. She questioned the psychological toll of witnessing these moments on loop in today’s digital era.
Her emotional remarks are being seen as a rare display of empathy across America’s deep political divide –showing that even in disagreement, compassion and humanity can transcend ideology.
