In an extraordinary medical milestone, Halima Cissé from Mali has earned the Guinness World Record for giving birth to the most children at a single birth to survive.

On May 4, 2021, Cissé delivered nine babies (nonuplets) – five girls and four boys – in Morocco, where she had been flown for specialized care.
