NDDC Marks 2025 International Literacy Day with Students’ Workshop in Port Harcourt

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) on Monday held a one-day workshop for students in Port Harcourt to commemorate the 2025 International Literacy Day.

This year’s event, themed “Promoting Multilingual Education: Literacy for Mutual Understanding and Peace,” brought together young people to discuss the importance of literacy in driving personal development and societal progress.

In her keynote address, NDDC’s Director of Education, Dr. Awele Chukwudifu, described literacy as a fundamental human right. She encouraged students to embrace continuous learning, self-development, and digital skills to secure a brighter future.

Dr. Chukwudifu further noted that by promoting literacy and education, the NDDC is fostering inclusivity, unity, and peace across the Niger Delta region.
