Ogbakor Ikwerre USA/Canada Launches 5-Day Free Medical & Surgical Mission in Rivers State

In a bid to improve access to quality healthcare for underserved communities, the Ogbakor Ikwerre USA/Canada Inc. (OIUSA) has announced a 5-Day Free Medical and Surgical Mission, scheduled to hold from

October 13 – 17, 2025, at the Bishop Elenwo Memorial Hospital, Rumuobiokani, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Rivers State.


The mission, themed “Ehnioma Bu Ekwnu – Health is Wealth”, is expected to deliver critical medical and surgical services to residents across the state.


The program is being hosted by His Lordship, Rt. Rev. Innocent U. Ordu, DSSRS, JP, Bishop of the Diocese of Evo,

and co-hosted by Rep. O. K. Chinda, Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, representing Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency.


Free Medical Services to Be Offered:

Primary care (all age groups).

Surgical interventions.

Eye care and treatments.

Gynecology services.

HIV/AIDS screening and counseling.

Malaria testing and treatment.

Free medications.



Call for Volunteers and Support:

The organizers have appealed for volunteers and donations, especially from medical professionals, pharmaceutical suppliers, and philanthropists, to ensure the mission’s success.


Needed items include funds, medical supplies, and medications.


Speaking ahead of the mission, the leadership of OIUSA emphasized that the outreach is not only about providing treatment but also about saving lives, fostering healthier communities, and demonstrating the power of collective humanitarian action.


This initiative underscores OIUSA’s commitment to giving back to Ikwerre land and Nigeria at large, ensuring that residents have access to affordable, life-saving healthcare, regardless of social or economic status.
