Petition Against Nyesom Wike Dispatched to Florida – Barr. Deji Adeyanju
Prominent human rights activist and lawyer, Barr. Deji Adeyanju, has revealed that a petition has been officially dispatched to the United States against the former Rivers State Governor and current FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
According to Adeyanju, the petition was filed on behalf of activist and publisher, Omoyele Sowore, and directed to the Attorney General of the State of Florida over allegations of unlawfully acquired properties in Florida.
In his statement, Adeyanju disclosed that the petition was not only sent to Florida authorities but was also formally submitted to the US Embassy in Nigeria on Monday. He further assured that additional steps are being taken to ensure that the matter is pursued to its conclusion.
Quoting him:
“Petition on behalf of our client Omoyele Sowore to Attorney General of the State of Florida regarding properties unlawfully acquired in Florida by Nyesom Wike has been dispatched to the US and was submitted yesterday at the US Embassy as well. Other efforts on the matter ongoing.”
This development is the latest in the growing controversies surrounding Wike, who has been at the center of political debates and scrutiny both in Nigeria and abroad.
