Wike Addresses Rumours of Illness, Says He Only Took a Break
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed circulating rumours suggesting that he was hospitalised in the United Kingdom following a health crisis.
Speaking on his return, Wike explained that the speculation was unfounded, stressing that he only traveled to take a much-needed break after months of intense work.
“Since I took this appointment as FCT Minister, I've never gone on holiday without taking files to work on. This time around, I said I must travel without any files to be able to relax well. Before I knew it, I heard people saying I was sick and had a heart attack,” the minister said.
Wike noted that contrary to false reports, he remains in good health and fully committed to his responsibilities as FCT Minister.
The former Rivers State governor’s remarks come amid growing public speculation on his absence from the country.
