Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, on Monday paid an on-the-spot visit to the Rivers State Secretariat Complex in Port Harcourt following a fire outbreak that affected parts of the facility.
The Governor arrived at the scene to assess the level of damage and receive firsthand briefings from emergency responders and government officials on ground.
The fire, which reportedly broke out on Sunday evening, caused panic among civil servants and disrupted activities within the complex. Although the extent of the damage is still being evaluated, Governor Fubara assured that the incident will be thoroughly investigated, with appropriate measures put in place to prevent future occurrences.
He further commended the quick intervention of the fire service personnel and security agencies for their efforts in bringing the situation under control.
