Bonny Island, Rivers State – Football fans, mark your calendars! The much-anticipated Amanyanabo Football Tournament is set to kick off on November 30, 2025, at 2 PM at the Bonny Government School. This annual sporting festival brings together communities and football enthusiasts from across the Grand Bonny Kingdom for an unforgettable celebration of talent, teamwork, and community spirit.
This year’s tournament continues a beloved tradition, championed by His Majesty, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, Edward the 1st, CON, DSSRS, JP. Perekule XI, the natural ruler and Amanyanabo of the Grand Bonny Kingdom. The competition promises thrilling action, featuring 16 indigenous teams from Bonny Kingdom battling it out for glory. Fans can expect two matches per match day at 1 PM and 4 PM, ensuring a jam-packed schedule of high-energy football.
The fixtures draw for the tournament will take place on November 19, 2025, setting the stage for exciting matchups and intense competition.
The event is proudly sponsored by Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) and organized by Grafton Entertainment, with strong support from the Bonny Local Government Council.
