PHMA 2026 Theme “TRADO-NOW” Explained by Kendrick A. Christian

The countdown to the 2026 Port Harcourt Magazine Awards (PHMA) has officially begun, and the newly unveiled theme “TRADO-NOW” is already sparking conversations.

Following the announcement, PHMA convener Kendrick A. Christian shared an interesting reaction he received:

“Kendrick, you want us to tie wrapper to an award night?”

 

Addressing the question, Kendrick explained that TRADO-NOW represents a thoughtful balance between tradition, culture, and modernization.

The theme encourages guests to proudly showcase their cultural heritage while creatively infusing contemporary and civilized fashion elements — a fusion of the past and the present.

According to Kendrick, this concept will come alive at the Port Harcourt Magazine Awards in ways attendees won’t forget, though many details are being intentionally kept under wraps.

“You see this coming PHMA, leave am! We won’t say all yet.”
