Chibuike Amaechi Obtains ADC Presidential Nomination Form Ahead of 2027 Elections

Former Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi, has officially obtained the presidential nomination form of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Amaechi picked up the form on Friday at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja, signaling his intention to contest for the presidency under the ADC platform.

Party supporters and political associates who accompanied him to the secretariat described his decision as a major boost for the party ahead of the forthcoming primaries.

The former governor is widely known for his long-standing political career in Nigeria. Before serving as Governor of Rivers State from 2007 to 2015, Amaechi was Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly. He later served as Minister of Transportation under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Meanwhile, economist Mohammed Hayatu-Deen has also joined the presidential race, becoming the first aspirant to obtain the ADC presidential nomination form.

Hayatu-Deen received the form on Thursday night at the ADC National Secretariat in Abuja. The form was presented to him by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Prince Chinedu Idigo.

Party faithful described Hayatu-Deen’s move as an early demonstration of strength, preparedness, and political organization ahead of the party’s primary elections.

Speaking shortly after obtaining the form, the presidential aspirant pledged to abide by the leadership decisions of the ADC regarding the mode of primary election to be adopted by the party.

With more aspirants expected to emerge in the coming months, political observers believe the ADC presidential race may become one of the key developments to watch ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.
